How to wear vintage: The Beaded Top

Top: Vintage, Jeans: Forever 21 (Similar), Clutch: Michael Kors (Similar), Heels: BCBG Generation, Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

Recently, I went thrifting with a very close friend of mine. Since high school, thrifting and going to flea markets has been our favorite thing to do together! So it was great to catch up and hit some stores to see if we could find anything worth taking home. Luckily this time around we both came away with a handful of awesome finds. I couldn't be happier with this really fun beaded tank I scored! Now if any of you thrift regularly I'm sure you always see these crazy all over beaded blouses and cringe every time you look at them. Well that was me too until now. Something about this fringe beaded number got my attention, so I tried it on and voila perfect fit!

Tip no. 3: Extravagant top + Casual denim + Pumps = Winning combo.

When it comes to wearing an over the top blouse my rule of thumb is to not dress it up any further. Instead, take a more casual approach when styling and pair the ornate top with a casual pair of denim jeans (either a skinny jean or a boyfriend jean will do the trick). The contrast between the dressy top and laid back denim is what makes the look much more modern. Since I'm taking a casual approach and wearing jeans, it doesn't necessarily mean I have to wear flats. A nice pair of pumps elongates the leg and polishes off the effortless look!
