How to Add Edge to Your Spring Outfits

In a recent Real Talk post, I talked briefly about how I plan on incorporating lighter spring colors into my wardrobe while balancing my love for darker colors at the same time. I really love adding seasonal trends into my wardrobe but I have a bit of an edgier style (hence the dark color addiction) so that always shines through no matter what I'm wearing. I've realized that adding an edge to outfits comes second nature to me but it doesn't come as naturally to others. So I wanted to share with you three quick tips on how to add edge to your spring outfits!

1. Incorporate darker colors with your spring clothing

I love incorporating darker colors with all of my outfits and I'm usually adding the color black into the mix in some way. I suggest pairing your favorite spring dress and skirts with a dark sweater or cardigan to add edge! You can also add edge in a subtler way by darkening your accessories. I love the contrast of lighter colors with darker colors it looks so chic when pulled off correctly!

2. Layer a moto jacket over your spring outfits for instant edge

My faux leather jacket has to be the one item in my closet that I over use A LOT! I love the versatility of this jacket and it's ability to instantly add the edgy vibe that I love to every single outfit. Simply throw your favorite faux leather jacket over spring dresses (like shown) to add edgy vibes to your look!

3. Opt for shoes that have edgier details (i.e Leather, caged, lace-up etc)

Caged sandals, mules, and lace up sandals have a subtle edgy feel to them that pairs great with spring outfits! You can wear these styles with skirts, dresses, and skinny jeans so easily.
