My Winter Skincare Routine

I’m starting to get into expanding my skincare routine lately. I’ve been doing the same old routine for quite a long time and since there are so many products out there, I’m ready to branch out and experiment. In the winter my skin is the dryest and does not feel its best (I know I’m not the only one with this issue). So to help this, I’ve made a few tweaks to my usual remove makeup, wash face, and moisturize routine. While, I know there are so many more products and routines out there, I wanted to share with you what I use now! I will keep updating my routines as I introduce new products!

Current Routine:

  1. Remove all makeup: I always start by removing my eye makeup with remover and getting most of my foundation off with a cleansing wipe! I find it easier to to get most of my makeup off first before cleansing.

  2. Use a light cleanser and my Clarisonic Mia 2 to cleanse my face: I recently received my Clarisonic Mia 2 for christmas and I’m OBSESSED with this thing. Although it’s a bit pricey it’s completely worth investing in. While using with a light cleanser, the Clarisonic works to gently exfoliate your face and removes all dirt and impurities.

  3. Use a clay mask (1-2 times per week): This step varies based on the day but I like to use a clay mask a few times a week and my favorites are this one and this one. I don't like to overuse masks just because it makes my skin extra dry especially in the winter!

  4. Use a Toner: I never used to use toner before but there are some great benefits to using it. It helps to remove additional impurities, repairs and smooths the skin’s surface. I like to use it right after cleansing!

  5. Moisturize: Keeping your skin full of moisture during the winter months is key! I love to apply my favorite moisturizer while my skin is fairly damp so it locks into my pores. I’ve been using this moisturizer for YEARS and it’s honestly my favorite (and very inexpensive $5 bucks) but I’ve recently started using this Kiehl's moisturizer and I love it too!
