Transitioning your summer wardrobe into fall

September and early October are very tricky months to dress for. It's usually very chilly in the early morning and then by the time the afternoon rolls around you're overheating. Not fun at all!!! These types of weather changes make it so hard to dress appropriately for. Looking on the bright side, at least you can still wear some of your favorite summer pieces while the weather fully transitions! Simple solutions can make even the brightest of summer dresses look like they were meant for fall.

Layer Up

Adding some layers to your summer pieces instantly brings them into fall. I decided to throw a vest over my summer dress here since the weather wasn't cool enough for a jacket at the time. Once the temperature drops down more (which it will…unfortunately) I'll just throw on a knit sweater or leather jacket for added warmth. Utilizing fall colors such as burgundy or navy with your layers also helps with making your summer pieces more seasonally appropriate!

Swap your Sandals for Boots

If you read my last post, you can tell I really love boots! Swapping out your summer footwear for a pair of black booties is the simplest way to transition into fall. Investing in a few great options like an ankle boot, over the knee boot, and flat boot is definitely worth it! If you can't invest in a bunch different silhouettes and colors this season, no biggie! All you really need is a durable pair of black booties. The pair I'm wearing here are from Zara, obsessed! They are so versatile, I can wear them with a casual outfit or dressier look.
